Ian Burman Added as Farr 30 Class Coordinator PDF Print E-mail

Stagg Yachts is pleased to announce the addition of new team member Ian Burman to our staff.

Ian’s primary responsibility is to organize the Farr 30 Class.   He is an accomplished small boat sailor who raced 420s for his high school and was on the Georgetown University sailing team.

“Ian ran the Severn Sailing Association junior program in Annapolis for a number of years and turned it into the most successful on the Bay. He has sailed extensively on the Farr 30 and we are lucky to have him on our team”, stated Geoff Stagg

Ian’s first project is finalizing details and organizing the upcoming Farr 30 World Championship in Miami Beach on November 29-December 2.   Thirty to thirty-five boats are expected and it is shaping up to be a great event in one of the best sailing venues on the East Coast.     Ian will also coordinate the international racing calendar; handle technical issues, website design and updates, sail button distribution and North American annual revalidations.

“Having competed in a few Farr 30 events this summer and fall, I’m really excited to become a part of this great class.  The competition is top notch and the design of the boat is timeless.  In the Farr 30 class, you can compete in all conditions against the best competition in the world, while having a great time.  In the coming years, I see more and more people getting involved in the one design class racing,”  enthused Burman on his recent appointment.
