The Farr 30 fleet has been invited to race in the Sarcoma Cup on San
Francisco Bay August 24 and 25. The Sarcoma Cup
(www.sarcomacup.org) is a charity fund-raiser and celebration of the
sailing life that features great racing, excellent dockside activities, and
support for a very worthy cause. All proceeds beyond costs will go
towards research for a cure for Sarcoma, the 'forgotten cancer'. The
Sarcoma Cup trophy itself was custom-made for the event and
donated by Jerry Kermode, a world-class woodworking master.
Dockage and hoists for visiting boats will be available at Richmond
Marina. There will be two days of racing, with a total of 5 races.
Details on the event are at http://www.sarcomacup.org/. This is also
the week of Americas Cup racing on San Francisco Bay. If you plan to
arrive earlier in the week you can also watch the AC 45’s race.
