Aug 23 - No racing on day 2 of 2008 Farr 30 North Americans PDF Print E-mail
The fleet left the dock at 10 AM this morning hoping the breeze would fill in and we could get some quality racing in, but we were greeted by a very light and shifty Southeasterly when we arrived on the course.  After hours of being teased by inconsistent breezes, the Race Committee, led by PRO Peter "Luigi" Reggio decided to send the fleet back to shore shortly after 2 PM.  The day was not lost however, as the racers were able to enjoy a great cookout at Sail Newport sponsored by Hall Spars.  Deneen Demourkas' Groovederci still leads the fleet with a total of six points after four races, followed by Bodo and Nick von der Wense's Turbo Duck and John Podmajersky's Illusion.  Racing will conclude tomorrow and the first warning is scheduled for 1100.  For the event webpage with complete results and photos click here.
