I have just returned back from the excellent Annapolis NOOD regatta
where we had awesome racing, tons of current and 6 different race
winners in 7 races. The only two timer was Jim Richardson and his
Barking Mad crew.
At this event we had 7 Great Lakes boats that attended and of those
4 of us won a race! Congrats to Illusion for winning race 1, Tramp for
race 3, Team Krav Maga for race 5 and USA 41 for race 6. We also had 4
boats in the top 10 with Tom Ritter and crew aboard Tramp taking the
regatta overall by a comfortable 6 points over Dan Cheresh and Team
Krav Maga. Illusion had a tough last day and dropped to 6th and Black
Seal with the Young family finishing 8th.
I/ would say quite a great showing for the Great Lakes.
We did miss a bunch of you and we hope to start hearing who is going to
be attending which events in the near future. Next up is Toronto NOOD
where Kevin Brown is working hard at making our stay in the great white
north as easy as possible. I hope to get Kevin to pipe in with regatta
plans and I am sure that he would appreciate knowing who is in and/or
what he can do to get you there!
We are hoping to attract some of the East Coaster's and I will
be in contact with Nelson to sort that out over the next few days.
Unfortunately neither DC nor I could make the owners meetings the other
night as we were stuck on the new boat getting the engine and
electronics sorted out for the next day. So we missed a chance to talk
up the GL fleet and our events there. Maybe one of those that did
attend can give us a brief run down of what happened.
Anyway, just wanted to touch base and give you a heads up on
what happened. Congrats to Tom and Tramp for a great regatta looking
forward to seeing you all on the race course in the very near future,
remember Canadian beer is better! Cheers
