The M 30 Class has released the new deck package that will be supplied on new M 30s built by USWatercraft.  A list of the hardware can be found here: http://www.mumm30.org/images/stories/USW_deck_package_-_May_2008.pdf and the drawing that specifies the location of the hardware can be found here: http://www.mumm30.org/images/stories/USW20129.pdf.  In relation to this new hardware, the Management Group has issued the following rule interpretations:

48.     Is it permissible to replace broken or worn out deck hardware on Carroll Marine, Ovington, Mc Dell and DK boats with the Harken hardware supplied on new USWatercraft M 30s?

Yes.  All hardware replaced with Harken equipment shall be part #’s supplied by the builder as specified on USWatercraft Drawing #20129 and shall not be relocated from original builder location as specified on Carroll Marine Drawing #338-101A and as recorded on each boat’s MCCB.

49.     Is it permissible to use Harken Winch Mounting Rings, part #’s 947737 and 947738 to mount Harken winches for making maintenance easier?

Yes.  The mounting rings do not increase the performance, decrease the weight, or decrease the strength of the winches.

Of course, all boats are still permitted to use the equipment originally supplied to them by the builder.
